Weekly Music Theory Classes

Hey Everyone!

So I've been teaching your kids, many for quite some time, and I feel like many of them could really benefit from taking a theory class. I've been able to work on theory with some of your kids, but I find that I simply don't have time in most of their lessons.

I've decided I want to start up a weekly theory class to help your kids understand how music works, and in the end help them be able to learn pieces more quickly and efficiently. I need at least 5 students in the class for it to run. Classes will be a half hour long, once a week. If I get more than 5 students then I may increase the time a bit, but the course fee will remain the same for everyone. I'm thinking that Saturdays at 10:30 or 11 am at my house would be a good time to have it, but in the end I'll do my best to have classes at a time everyone can make it.

Classes will run till December 20 this semester (assuming Saturday is the best day for everyone), and will exclude UEA and Thanksgiving weeks (Please let me know if I've neglected a holiday). If I counted right that should be ten weeks. The course fee for the ten weeks will be $50 per student ($5 per class), and I would prefer payment up front. However, I'm willing to offer a discount to families who enroll at least 3 students at $35 per student for the ten weeks ($3.50 per class). Also, if there are circumstances that won't allow you to pay everything up front, I'm willing to work out a monthly payment plan with you. There will be no required books or texts for the course. Material will be provided. If you sign up for the theory class you will be committed to attend every week for all ten weeks. There will be no refunds or makeups for any missed classes.

All ages and levels are welcome at this class. We will be starting at a basic level. In my experience with your kids, many of them who are at a higher level of playing don't yet understand basic level music theory.

I will likely resume class next semester depending on how it goes, and may begin teaching multiple classes (for example: beginner, intermediate and advanced) to cater to student's needs.

I'd like the first class to start next week so please contact me quickly if you're interested, or if you have any questions.

Thanks!
